This deed made this the 13th day of January 1906 between J. Wesley Bryant and 
Celia H. Martin of the first part and Margaret E. Bryant of the second part, 
Witnesseth:  That the parties of the first part doth grant, release, and convey 
with General Warranty this to the party of the second part entire interest in a
certain tract of land lying in Patrick County VA. on the waters of Puppy Creek 
and Smith River adjoining the lands of Lelia Wright, W.A. Via, Wade Emberson, 
and others containing 25 acres more or less, valued at $50 and bounded as 
follows:   Beginning on a planted stone on the north bank of creek (Lelia 
Wright's corner) Thence down and with the creek to the mouth of same on Smith 
River thence with and up the river to Wade Emberson's corner hickory, thence 
with said Emberson line to a corner poplar on Peter Via's line, thence with said 
Via's line to a planted stone in said line, thence with fence and Celia H. 
Martin's line to sourwood pointers Lelia Wright's corner, thence down the hill 
with old path and Lelia Wright's line to the beginning.   The said J. Wesley 
Bryant and Celia H. Martin covenant that they have the right to convey the said 
land to the grantee that they have done no act to encumber the said land and 
that the grantee shall have quiet possession of said land free from all 
encumbrances and that the grantors the said parties of the first part will 
execute such further assurances of the said land as may be requisite.

State of Virginia, County of Patrick, to wit:
  I, D.H. Wood, a Justice in and for the county and State aforesaid, do certify 
that J. Wesley Bryant and Celia H. Martin whose names are signed to the 
foregoing writing bearing date on the 13th day of January, 1906, have 
acknowledged the same before me in my county.
  Given under my hand this the 13th day of January 1906.

Virginia, County of Patrick, to wit
  In the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the county and state aforesaid 
the 23 day of May 1908 the foregoing writing was presented and admitted to 
record together with the certificate of acknowledgement therein.
