Martinsville Daily Bulletin, July 7, 1939
MARTINSVILLE DAILY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Fri., July 7, 1939, p. 9, col. 4
[edited]. Funeral services were held yesterday at Goblintown Baptist church in
Patrick county for 4-year-old Walter Lee Scott, son of Albert Scott, who died
Wednesday night of injuries suffered when run over by a truck operated by his
father. The accident is said to have taken place in the yard of the Scott home,
near Fairy Stone park. Mr. Scott was backing his vehicle and failed to see the
child. Surviving are his parents and five brothers and sisters.

Additional Comments:
Walter Lee Scott is buried in the Daniel H. Wood Cemetery which just inside a
wooded area located off Fairystone Park Highway in Patrick County, Virginia.
The cemetery is situated between the Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department and
Goblintown Road. There is an old restaurant that is owned by the Turner family
that was converted into apartments. The cemetery is just behind that old
restaurant and behind an old abandoned mobile home.
