December 13 and December 16, 1937
THE DAILY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Morning Edn., Mon., Dec. 13, 1937, p. 1, 
col. 8 [edited]. The body of George Moran, 45-year-old Franklin county farmer, 
missing since Thursday, was found in Otter Creek, tributary to Smith's River, 
west of Ferrum, Saturday afternoon. Moran's body was found lying face downward 
in the creek under a footlog. It was believed he fell from the log. He is 
survived by his wife and several children: A brother, A. O. Moran, is well known 
Rocky Mount merchant.

THE DAILY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Morning Edn., Thur., Dec. 16, 1937, p. 5, 
col. 2. Ferrum News. George Moran was found dead in the creek near Mrs. Sallie 
Rosse's home Saturday. He had been gone from his home since Thursday. Burial was 
in the family burial grounds Monday. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Binda 
Moran, three daughters, Mrs. Ora Turner, Mrs. Golda Jordan and Miss Vernell 
Moran; one son, Eldee Moran; five grandchildren, an aged mother, Mrs. Charlotte 
Moran of Rocky Mount, and six sisters and three brothers.
