                                 PETER MARTIN DIES

  Funeral services were held at 2 PM Friday from the home on Route 2, Stuart, 
for Peter Martin, 75, who died unexpectedly at his home, a short while after 
being stricken while mowing the lawn.  Burial was in the family cemetery.

  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Lawson, of Route 2, Stuart, a son, Jack 
Martin, also of Route 2; and two brothers, Charlie B. Martin of Route 4, Stuart 
and Alec Martin, of Route 1, Martinsville.

  Mr. Martin was born in Patrick County on April 24, 1878, the son of Willie G. 
and Celie Bryant Martin and was a lifelong resident of this county.
