THE HENRY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Fri., Nov. 21, 1930, p. 3, col. 4 
[edited].  While on the way home from work, Fred L. Bryant of Rhodafield, W. 
Va., was fatally injured Monday, November 3.  He was born and raised dear 
Dodson, Patrick County, Virginia.  He was the son of the late W.  P. and Bettie 
Bryant.  He is survived by his wife and five children.  His mother, Mrs. Bettie 
Bryant, of Bassett;  three brothers, Homer J., of Dodson;  Clyde H. of Bassett;  
Harry J. Bryant of forest Hill, Md.  Five sisters, Mrs. P. T. Setliff, of 
Fieldale;  Mrs. J. W. Dollyhigh and Miss Sallie Bet Bryant of Bassett;  Mrs. P. 
E.  Ingram, Rocky Mounty and Mrs. W. J. Ross of Bel Air, Md.  He served two and 
one-half years in the U. S. Army, when given a disability discharge in 1912.  He 
was married o Miss Bertie Ratliff of Elamsville, in March 1913.  For the past 
six years he has made his home in West Virginia.  He was 38 years old and a most 
devoted member of the Methodist Church.  Among the out of town residents to 
attend his funeral were Harry J. Bryant of Forest Hill, Md.;  Walter J. Ross of 
Bel Air, Md.;  N. Pace of Street, Md.;  Will Ratliff of Williamsburg, W. Va.;  
Swanson Ratliff of Pulaski and Roy Ratliff of Bluefield, W. Va., and Mrs. Geo. 
W. Cookus and Leo Bryant of Roanoke.
