Mary Lee Carter Obituary
Mary Lee Carter, age 94, of Douglas GA, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2010 
at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Carter, a native of Axson, Georgia was 
born November 17, 1915; she is the daughter of the late Duncan Allen and Nettie 
Gillis Douglas. She was employed at the Friedlander's Store as a seamstress and 
a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Douglas GA. Funeral services were held at 
4:00 PM, on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Eastside Baptist Church with Dr. John 
Dobbins officiating. The Eastside Baptist Church Choir and the Congregation 
provided the special music with Randy Braswell, pianist accompanying. Burial 
followed in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Atkinson County, Georgia. 
Active Pallbearers were: Mike Carter, Jim Carter, Matt Carter, D. A. Douglas, 
Mickey Fletcher and Fred Douglas. Honorary pallbearers were the Members of the 
Holt Sunday School Class of Eastside Baptist Church. Survivors include: Sons, 
Berry A. (Florence) Carter, Tifton GA, James C. Carter, Ambrose GA, Forrest 
(Alice) Carter, Dawson GA, Sisters, Doris Carter, Tampa FL and Betty Bryant, 
Milledgeville GA, Six Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren. Sims Funeral 
Home was in charge oof arrangements.
