Samuel McKee died 1780,
Westmorland Co.,Hempfield Tsp.,
Pa, leaving widow, Margaret, who
in about 1785 remarried, John
Veasy (Vessey), a Revol. soldier.
Named in a petition brought by
David and Robert McKee for aid to
support in Orphan's Court at
Greensburg are children of Samuel
& Margaret: David, d. young,
Samuel, whose name is penciled in
to have mard, Nancy McConnel;
Nancy, who marrd. John McConnel,
Mary md. William Lyons, Elizabeth
md. Edward Pierce, Margaret md.
James Patterson, Sarah md. John
Robison and Robert md. a Martha,
died before 1814.
   Samuel was involved in indian
wars, and his name is on a
petition to Penn, asking for more
militia to help in raids, which
were numerous at the time of his
death. He lived next to a farm
where a bloody massacre took
place. He probably was the Saml.
McKee who rode with Capt. Robt.
McKee in the Revol. Both are
buried in cemetery at Greensburg.
 Son, Samuel Jr.& Nancy were
parents, I think of James (b 1803)
and Sarah McK. James md. Margaret
Pierce, in Armstrong Co., 1830 and
Sarah mard. her bro., Joseph
Pierce (parents Peter Pierce and
Martha Veasy), went to Ohio.
I've never found Saml's wife,
Nancy, in any record, but when
Margart and John Veasy, now old,
moved, in 18l4, Samuel McKee and a
John McKee, ??not a bro., bought
the farm in Hempfield Twp. An Ann
McKee bought the place when Saml.
died, about 1880, I think. Her
name was listed in census as being
with sister Sarah in Ohio.
(Champaign Co.) This family was
in Westmorland Co. about 100
years. James & Margaret, & a
dozen kids, however, moved all
over: Pa., Ohio, Idaho and back,
settled near Freeport, Pa. at Perl
City, where they were buried. He
died about 1865. I have names of
their children.

Additional Comments:
I believe Samuel McKee is the son of
David McKee at McKeesport, though he
is only mentioned in a couple of
places. His lst son was David and he
lived in an area where land was given
to David McKees sons. I would
appreciate any facts of Saml. McKee
Jr. born before 1780,one of the minor
children of Saml and Margaret. Are
there any history books I might read
about Wesmorland Co.?
