Kenneth Bracken Dies Unexpectedly of Heart Attack 

Services were held Monday, February 3, at the Kirby Funeral Home for Charles 
Kenneth Bracken, 39, of El Dorado, who died Friday, January 31, in a 
physician's office at Cleveland, Okla., thirty minutes after he was stricken 
with a heart attack. He was in Cleveland for his company. The Rev. Dr. Joe 
riley Burns, minister of the El Dorado First Methodist church, officiated. 
Graydon Waldorf sang The Old Rugged Cross, accompanied by Mrs. H. W. 
Bullerdiek. The casket bearers were Jack Leonard, Jerry Leonard, Merwyn 
Sontag, Ted Holderman, Robert V. Faith and Jack A. McFann. Honorary bearers 
were Archie O'Dell, C. John Cox, Jordan Minyard, Arnold Adams, Jim Wunderlick, 
Randolph N. Moore, Ray Brickley, George Todd, Jim Neighbors and Paul Wesley. 
Interment with military rites by members of the American Legion, were at the 
Walnut Valley Memorial Park.

Native of El Dorado 

Mr. Bracken who was highly regarded in this community was born August 20, 1924 
in el Dorado a son of Charles B. and Irene (McCollum) Bracken. He was 
graduated from El Dorado High school and entered the Marine Corps during World 
War II, on March 3, 1943. He was discharged with the rank of staff sergeant on 
May 24, 1946 in Cherry Point, N.C. on August 28, 1949, he was married to Mary 
Ruth Holladay in El Dorado. He was associated with his father in the B&B 
Pipeline Contracting company and was a member of the El Dorado Elks Lodge.

Flag folders were Bill Wrench and John F. Johnson. John Templin and Mike Gard 
were buglers. 

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth, 2220 West Fourth avenue, and four 
children, Shelley 13, Tracey, 11, Cherridah, 2 and Kenneth R., 8 all of the 
home; his father, Charles E. Bracken and Mrs. Bracken, 425 Oil Hill Road, his 
mother, Mrs. Irene Hatton of Jennings, Okla., and a brother, Gary of Tulsa, 
Okla.
