Mary Lou Floyd
JEFFERSONVILLE--- Mary Lou Floyd, 85, of Route 1 died Tuesday in a local
nursing home after an extended illness.
Services will be held at 11am Thursday in Prospect United Methodist Church in
Twiggs County. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Revs. Gene Scott and
Wesley Jones will officiate.
A lifelong resident of Twiggs County, Mrs. Floyd was a member of Prospect
United Methodist Church. She was a former employee of Bibb Mills in Macon and
was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Sybima Hamm and Sue Hinson, both of Macon
and Olis Thompson of Jeffersonville; three sons, Jesserell Floyd of Macon and
Frederick Floyd and Freddie Floyd, both of Jeffersonville; two sisters, Lilla
Mae Floyd and Sara Sauls, both of Jeffersonville; 22 grandchildren; and 18
great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 tonight in Allgood Memorial
Chapel in Jeffersonville. The family may be contacted at the residence of
David Thompson, Route 1, Jeffersonville.
Additional Comments:
Mary Lou was born 7 May 1905. Georgia death certificate #041764. Her husband
was Joseph Stanley Floyd who is also buried at Prospect UMC Cemetery.
