Mrs. D. J. Collins
Mrs. D. J. Collins of 1463 Carling Avenue died in a local hospital at 11:10am
yesterday. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary at
4pm today. The Rev. Clifton Forester and the Rev. O. M. Cates will officiate
and burial will be in Cool Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Collins, the former Miss Eva Lamb, was the daughter of B. H. Lamb and
Mrs. Willis Ann Nobles Lamb and had lived in Macon for 34 years, coming here
from Danville. She was a member of the Cool Springs Church.
Surviving are four sons, Leroy and Jimmy Collins of Jacksonville, Fla. and W.
B. and Russell Collins of Macon; three daughters, Mrs. J. B. Beasley, Mrs. I.
S. Ellis, and Mrs. E. C. Holland, all of Macon; one brother, T. L. Lamb of
Danville; two sisters, Mrs. R. A. Lamb of Danville and Mrs. J. R. Mullis of
Cochran; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Additional Comments:
Eva was born 24 Jul 1889. Georgia death certificate #04950. Her husband was
Daniel Jethro Collins who is also buried at Cool Springs.
