                          John C. Chance
 DANVILLE, Dec 6.-----Funeral services for John C. Chance, 86, were conducted 
at Mount Zion church Friday by Rev. J. E. Townsend, with interment in the 
Mount Zion cemetery.
 Chance, retired farmer of Twiggs County died Thursday at the home of hs 
daughter, Mrs. Joe Arnold. He fractured his hip a month ago in a falll and had 
been critically ill since his return from the hospital in Dublin.
 Chance was born and reared in Twiggs county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred 
Chance. His wife, who died 10 years ago, was the former Miss Margie Reynolds 
of Twiggs county. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Minnie Arnold 
and Mrs. Genie Fowler of Danville; Mrs. Lou Ham of Dry Branch and Will Chance 
of Cochran; and a large number of grandchildren.

NOTE--Although this obituary has John C. Chance as his name, it should be John 
Henry Chance.

John was born 28 Jul 1852 to Alfred Chance and Nancy Smith Chance. Georgia 
death certificate #32552.
