Anna Carter
Mrs. Anna Carter, 60, of 148 Garnet Mine Road, Concord, who was struck by a
car near her home Saturday night.
Bethel police said Mrs. Carter was killed about 10pm when she stepped out from
behind a parked car in front of her home and was struck by another vehicle.
Police said the driver of the car which struck Mrs. Carter was William Stull,
45, of the 600 block Park Street, Ridley Park. He was preliminarily charge with
involuntary manslaughter.
Police said Stull apparently was blinded by the headlights on a car parked
near Mrs. Carter's home and did not see the woman walk out onto the highway.
She was dead on arrival at Sacred Heart Hospital, Chester.
Mrs. Carter was the wife of Egliscuc Carter and formerly worked at the Concord
Food Co. for 18 years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Laura Jamison of
Lower Chichester and Mrs. Ann Smith of Lower Chichester; a son, James of
Claymont; her mother, Mrs. Laura Wilkers of Upper Chichester.
SERVICES SET
Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday at Ward's Funeral Home, 1459 Market
St., Lower Chichester. Burial will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Lower Chichester.
Calling hours will be Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Testimony in the Sept. 7 death of Mrs. Anna Carter, 60, of 148 Garnet Mine
Road, Boothwyn, also will be heard on Thursday.
Mrs. Carter died after she was struck by a car at 8:50pm while walking across
Garnet Mine Road and Kirk Road, Boothwyn.
William S. Stull, 45, of 600 Park St., Ridley Park, has been charged with
involuntary manslaughter.
Additional Comments:
Anna was born abt 1908 to Joseph Wilkers and Laura E. Taylor Wilkers. Her
husband was Egliscus Carter.
