Saturday, Nov. 4th, 1854
Died
At her residence in the county of Greene, near Speight's Bridge, on the 25th
Ult., Susan, wife of Mr. William Faircloth, aged near 56 years-leaving a
husband, three sons, two daughters, and a large circle of relatives and
friends to mourn and lament her loss. Mrs. Faircloth was born and raised in
the county of Edgecombe, and was left destitute of a mother at an early age-
though small, she had to occupy the station of her mother in transacting the
business of the house. She grew up, married, and resided in the county of
Edgecombe until a few years before her death, when they moved to the county
of Greene. She made a virtuous, pious, and obedient wife-an affectionate
mother and obliging neighbor, and a tender nurse-often visited the sick and
afflicted of her neighborhood. She possessed a great share of morality, was
mild and easy in her manners, and often presented her visitors with a smile,
even when on her death bed. As for care and industry she was excelled by
none.-she also aided and assisted in accumulating much wealth. We who knew
her from her childhood, don't hesitate to say that she left none
behind that can fill her station. She was esteemed by all who knew her, and
those who knew her best, esteemed her most.
