                              Berry E. Smith
 ROBERTA -- Berry Edward Smith, an 82 year old retired employee of Cochran 
Provision Meat Packing Company in Dublin, died Wednesday in a local nursing 
home after an extended illness.
 Graveside services will be held at 3pm today in Dublin Memorial Gardens in 
Laurens County. The Rev. Frank Chapman will officiate.
 Mr. Smith, a South Carolina native, lived in Tift County for many years before 
moving to Crawford County from Dublin 10 years ago. He was a member of the 
Holiness Church.
 Survivors include his wife, Hattie C. Smith of Roberta; a stepdaughter, Geneva 
W. Hortman of Roberta; two stepsons, Hank Wiggins of Jekyll Island and Leonard 
Wiggins of Tifton; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
 Goddard Funeral Home in Roberta has charge of arrangements.

Additional Comments:
Berry was born 26 Jul 1905. His 1st wife was Annie Melissa Duggan and is 2nd 
wife was Hattie Mae Unknown Wiggins.
