Funeral Planned Here for Former Tifton Resident
Funeral services for Mrs. Vollie McDaniel Hobby of Macon, formerly of Tifton,
will be held Tuesday at 3pm at Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton. Mrs. Hobby
died Saturday in Macon.
Rev. L. R. Allen will officiate with burial in Liberty Baptist Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 5, 1902 in Tift County, daughter of the late John and
Martha McDaniel. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Tifton.
Survivors include her widower, Rube Hobby, Macon; three sons, William Roscoe
Hobby and Jesse Jackson Hobby, both of Tifton and Clifford Eugene Hobby of
Macon; five daughters, Mrs. Willa Mae Hurst of Tifton, Mrs. Ouida Newbern and
Mrs. Juanita Walston, both of Macon, Mrs. Ella Mae Horton and Mrs. Beatrice
Whitten, both of Tifton; three brothers, W. D. McDaniel and Watson McDaniel,
both of Bristol, Florida and Paul McDaniel of Vero Beach, Florida; two
sisters, Mrs. Angie Hart, Palmetto, Florida and Mrs. Tempie Layfield,
Sebastian, Florida; 27 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
The body was carried to the home of Mrs. Horton to rest until the hour of
services. Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

Georgia death certificate #016537. Her parents were John M. Cornelius McDaniel
and Mary Matilla Howell McDaniel.
