Fay Crosby Sali, 62, of Lake Park, went to join her husband in Heaven on
Friday, August 28, 2009, at South Georgia Medical Center after a courageous
battle with leukemia. She was born in Echols County on September 25, 1946, a
daughter of the late Dan and Bertha Richardson Crosby. For nine years Fay had
been a baker at Sam's Club, Valdosta, until her health declined in the last
year. She was a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and will
greatly be missed by all. She was a member of Antioch Church. She is survived
by four daughters, Julie Woolhouse and husband Michael of Keene, N.H.,
Stephanie Whitley of Alapaha, Dimple Sali-Carter and husband Jim of Lake Park,
and Danielle Hendrix and husband Brad of Lake Park; one son, James Sali of
Colo.; seven grandsons, Steven Tompkins and wife Toni, Bryan, Cory, and Coty
Tompkins, Jake Thomas Whitley III, J.C. Carter, and Austen Crews; one
granddaughter, Braden Hendrix; three great-grandchildren, Haley Tompkins,
Mackenzie, and Andrew Bond; four sisters, Ann Crosby-Trice (her best friend) of
Lake Park, Christine Beaty of Lake Park, Mary Crosby of Lake Park, and Danyette
Deacon and husband Steve of Valdosta; three brothers, Walter John "Punk" Crosby
and wife Peggy of Lake Park, Danny Bo Crosby and wife Aline of Lake Park, and
Wilson Crosby and wife Dona of Lake Park; and many nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by her husband of forty years, Steven M. Sali on August 28, 2008, a
sister, Kathy Crosby, and a brother, Joe Crosby. Funeral services will be held
at 11 am Monday, August 31, 2009, at Antioch Church with the Rev. Mickey
Corbett officiating. Burial will follow in Wrights Chapel Cemetery. The family
will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood
Funeral Home of Lake Park.
