Carl E. Findley Sr.

   FITZGERALD  Carl  E.Findley Sr., 88, of Fitzgerald died
Monday, January 9, 2006, at Dorminy  Medical  Center  in
Fitzgerald.

  Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January
11,2006, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald with the Rav. Steve
Waldorf and the Rev. B.J. Funk officiating. Eulogies by Dr. Carl E.
Findley Jr. and Mae Wilcox.

  Mr. Findley was born March 24,
1917, in Irwin County to the late
Aaron  Melton  and  Gertrude
McCurdy Findley. He was retired
manager    of    Halperin's
Department Store in Fitzgerald.
After retiring, he worked at J
Englemann LTD Men's Store in
Fitzgerald and the Big Store in
Tifton. Mr. Findley was a member
of the American Legion, an avid
golfer and a member of Central
United Methodist Church. He got
great pleasure spending time
with  his  grandsons,  enjoyed
home cooking and smoking his
pipe.

   Mr. Findley is survived by his
 son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Carl
E.  Findley  Jr.  and  Judy  of
Sylvester; daughter, Gloria L.
Findley of Tifton and two grand-
children, Carl E. Findley III and
Aaron Findley.

   He was preceded in death by
his wife, Mary Warren Findley.
The  family  requests  that
memorials be made to Central
United Methodist Church, P.O.
Box 428, Fitzgerald, GA 31750.
