Willie James Mobley
The funeral service for Willie James Mobley of Newark, New Jersey, who died
Monday,November 25, 1996 at Beth
Israel Medical Center in Newark, N.J., was held Tues-
day, December 3, at First Baptist Church in Ocilla. He was 40.
Rev. Charlie Sneed officiated the 2:00 p.m. service. Music was provided by
Kenneth Livingston, Tony White, and Evelyn Anderson.
Active pallbearers were Robert Anderson, Douglas
Anderson, Edward Watson,Waymond Cunningham,
Charles Bryant, Welcie Florence, Morris Moss and
Winlon Harris.
Honorary pallbearers were Harold Merritt, Anthony
Williams, Stanley Gaskin,Danny Benyard, Chief Christopher Gaskin, Roland
Gaskin, Rodney
Florence, and Patrick Gaskin.
Mr. Mobley was born May 8,1956 in Irwin County to James
(Rose) Mobley and Louvonne Gaskin. He was a 1974 graduate of Irwin County High
School and served in the U.S. Army. After serving in the Army he moved to
Irvington, NJ where he was employed by the U.S.
Postal Service and Sear Department Store. He was a
member of Real Love Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Darlene Campbell Mobley; a daughter: Nicole
Mobley of Atlanta; sisters: Janice Gaskin and Gail Mobley of NJ and Patrene D.
Mobley of FL; brothers: Stanley Gaskin of NJ, Roland Gaskin of SC, and Tech
Sgt. Randy Mobley of MD.; grandmother: Lucille Gaskin of Ocilla; great
grandfather: Cornelius Anderson of Ocilla; regarded as brothers and sisters:
Anthony Williams of Atlanta, Miriam Jay of Ocilla,Tommie Gaskin of NJ, Danny
Benyard of Atlanta, Christopher Gaskin of Cuba, Patrick Gaskin of Ocilla,
Peggy,Stephanie, and Rodney Florence of NJ; several nieces, nephews,
aunts and uncles.
