Lucille M. "Lucie" Young

Mrs. Lucille M. "Lucie" Young of Ocilla, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998, at 
Tift General Hospital. She was 76. I
Mrs. Young was born December 16, 1921, in Coffee County, the daughter of 
Oren, Sr. and Mattie Maine. She was a homemaker and had lived in the 
community most of her life. She was a former employee of Willett's Truck 
Stop, Ocilla, and Willacoochee Cafe and also a farm worker. She was a 
member of Pine Hill Baptist Church of Ocilla.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, William C. "Bill" Young.
Survivors include two sons, Gene Stone of Ocilla and Robert Stone of 
Lakeland; one daughter , Peggy Heflin of Fitzgerald;. 12 grandchildren; 
six great grandchildren and one brother, Junior. Maine of West Green.
Services were held at Pine Hill Baptist Church on Friday, July 17, at 2 
p.m., with Rev. Charles Nichols and Rev. Bobby Stone officiating.
 Music was provided by pianist, Kaylon Whitley, and soloists Mandy Dix 
and Vivian Nichols.
Pallbearers were George Tatum II,Clarence Stone, Roy Heflin, Jr., Billy 
Ray, Robert Stone, Jr., Raymond Chambless and Leonard Stone.
Interment was held at Old Valley Grove Cemetery of Irwin County.
Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
