 Mrs. Margaret Willard Corbitt Vickers, age 92, of Broxton, GA, passed away on 
Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an 
extended illness.
 Mrs. Vickers was born on January 7, 1922, in Pearson, GA, to the late Tom and 
Maggie Pearson Corbitt.
 Mrs. Vickers was the last Charter Member of The First Congregational Christian 
Church of Douglas, GA organized in 1951. She was the Historian of her and the 
first Primary Sunday School Teacher. She taught Sunday School for 40 plus years.
 Survivors include her two daughters, Margaret Vickers (Anthony) Deal of 
Douglas, GA and Mary Gail Vickers (Johnnie) Townsend of Willow Springs, MO; 
daughter-in-law, Donna Sheffield Vickers (Tommy) Dixon of Douglas, GA; sister, 
Nell Holman of Dunnellon, FL; five grandchildren, Andrea Deal (Ken) Newman, Jay 
(Laree) Vickers, Jad (Brandi) Deal, Alissa (Bryan) Youghn, and Joshua (Melissa) 
Vickers; nine great-grandchildren, Trey Tanner, Anna Tanner, Avi Tanner, Addie 
Vickers, Ava Vickers, Arlee Vickers, Grayson Deal, Arianna Deal, and Ali Teston, 
and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd 
Vickers and son James Loyd Vickers, Sr.
 Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the First 
Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Matt Rutland officiating. Music was 
furnished for the service by Rev. Matt Rutland "In The Garden," Jay Vickers "All 
The Way My Savior Leads Me," and congregation "I Know Whom I Have Believed," "It 
is Well With my Soul," and "Is Your All on the Altar," with Pat Turner playing 
the piano.
 Active pallbearers were Jay Vickers, Jad Deal, Josh Vickers, Trey Tanner, Greg 
Penn, Chan Carver.
 Honorary pallbearers were Patricia Graham, Lisa Burkett, Lauren Carver Wilcox,, 
Michele Penn Carver, Howard  and Pat Hand Turner, Harvey and Ann Vincent, 
Barbara Day, Margie Sayer, Ladies Sunday School Class of 1st Congregational 
Christian Church, Lexi Carver, P.O. and Mary Mitchell, Michelle Penn, Danielle 
Penn, Nicholas Penn.
 Interment followed at Union Hill Congregational Christian Church Cemetery.
 Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
