 Mrs. Lalla Bessie Swails Trowell, age 82, of Broxton, GA, passed away on 
Monday, March 24, 2014, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. 
Trowell was born on July 16, 1931, in Douglas, GA, to the late Wiley Swails and 
Vastia Hutchinson 
 Survivors include two daughters, Linda (John) Harper of Broxton, GA and Mary Jo 
(Michael) Fiest of Thorsby, AL; three sons, Roy Trowell of Broxton, GA, Roger 
(Brenda) Trowell of Broxton, GA, and Woodrow (Gail) Trowell of Ray City, GA; 
brother, Charles Ronald Swails of Douglas, GA; sister, Estelle Caves of Broxton, 
CA; four grandchildren, Michael Trowell, Michelle Griffin, Salena Merritt, and 
Darrell Lockhart; eight great grandchildren, Caelan Merritt, Tristan Merritt, 
Kyla Benton, Joshua Trowell, Harlow Herndon, Madison Griffin, Sandi Lockhart and 
Morgan Griffin; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her 
husband, Woodrow Trowell.
 Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at Reedy Branch 
Baptist Church with Rev. Den Weniger officiating. Music was furnished for the 
service by Phillip Jowers "Beulah Land"  and CD "I Can only Imagine," with Mrs. 
Weniger playing the piano for the prelude and postlude.
 Active pallbearers were Darrell Lockhart, Wiley Caves, Joey Trowell, John Harry 
Dockery, Jerry Wooten, Michael Trowel.
  Honorary pallbearers were Roger Palmer, Richard Wooten, William Self, Tommy 
Beasley, Charles Lewis, Rudolph Walker, J.W. Dockery, Ken Corbitt.
 Interment followed at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
 Sims Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.
