Atkinson County Citizen - October 26, 2006
 Mr. Chester Theo Royals, age 55, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, 
October 4, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA.
 Mr. Royals, a native of Atkinson County, GA was born March 17, 1951, son of 
the late William Theo and Juanita Griffin Royals. He was an installer for a 
glass installation plant. Step-father, Rev. Joe Taft preceded him in death.
 Survivors include his wife, Debra Royals, Douglas, GA; son Chester Royals, 
Jr., Macon, GA; sisters, Linda Burkhalter, Debra Stevens, Sara Adams & Nancy 
Collene Purvis, Douglas, GA, Alma Anderson, Pearson, GA, Frances Carver, 
Hinesville, GA; brothers, Fred Taft, Pearson, Ga, James Taft, West Palm Beach, 
FL. Several nieces, nephews, several great nieces and great nephews also 
survive.
 Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Chapel of 
Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA with Rev. George O'Berry officiating. Rev. 
Marty Wilkes gave the eulogy. Soloist, Faren Royals sang "Amazing Grace" 
and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" with Francine Fender, pianist. Burial 
followed in the Douglas City Cemetery.
 Active pallbearers were Quitman Brockington, Scott White, Earl White, Gordon 
Henry, Joseph Taft, Donnie Purvis, 
 Honorary pallbearers, Casey Stevens, Eddie Forsyth, Junior Royals, Archie 
Taft, Aaron Royals.
 Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
