Atkinson County Citizen - February 4, 2008
   Mrs. Mildred Purvis Rawlins, age 80, of Douglas, GA passed away on Friday, 
February 8, 2008 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA.
   Mrs. Rawlins, a native of Coffee County, GA was born January 16, 1928; she 
is the daughter of the late Ira & Rachel Stapleton Purvis. She was a homemaker 
and the widow of the late Robert Leonard Rawlins. She retired from the ASCS 
office in Atkinson County after more than 30 years of service and was a member 
of First Baptist Church.
  Survivors include daughter, Sue (Dorman) Faulkner, Douglas, GA; son, Dan 
(Peggy) Rawlins, Snellville, GA; grandchildren, Brantley Fulp, Douglas, GA, 
Noah Rawlins and Nathan Rawlins, Atlanta, GA; great grandchildren, Anna Rawlins 
and Lorin Rawlins.
  Graveside services and interment were held 11 Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 
the Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Martin officiating. Son, Dan Rawlins 
gave the eulogy. Harry Smith gave a musical rendition of "Amazing Grace" with 
the harmonica.
  Active pallbearers Brantley Fulp, Noah Rawlins, Nathan Rawlins, Lee Rawlins, 
Goldman Harper, John Rawlins, Jr., Joel Rawlins, Marcus Plymale.
  Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
