                        John Marion Ely Sr.
ELY -- Funeral services for John M. Ely Sr. will be held at 2pm Tuesday in the 
Biltmore Baptist Church with Rev. Reginald Herrin officiating. Interment will 
be in Riverside Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be deacons of the church. Mr. 
Ely, who died Saturday, is survived by two daughters, Myrtle Louise Hayes and 
Tiny D. Bray; six sons, Feltman, Roy, Marvin, Walter, J. L., and J. M. Ely Jr.; 
three sisters; 4 brothers; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. 
Arrangements by Giddens-Griffith Funeral Home, 729 S. Edhewood Ave.


Additional Comments:
John was born 18 Aug 1909 in Georgia to Henry Daniel Ely and Lottie J. McDaniel 
Ely and died in Jacksonville, Florida. His mother, Lottie, is buried in Midway 
Church Cemetery in Treutlen County, Georgia and his wife, Jesse M. Tapley Ely 
is buried in Douglas City Cemetery in Douglas, Ga.
