Funeral Today
In Cordele, Ga.,
For P. C. Clegg

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist church in Cordele, Ga.,
Friday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock for Perry Collie Clegg, former resident of
Americus, who died Thursday at the Prather Clinic after an extended
illness. Mr. Clegg, who lived in Americus until a few years ago, was
engaged in wholesale business in Cordele. He was a member of the First Baptist
Church and had served as a teacher for several years. He was also active in
Boys Scout work and was the first scout master in Cordele.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maggie Chapman Clegg, two sons, Perry
Clegg, Jr. of Cordele, and Capt. Sam Edmund Clegg of the U. S. Army; one sister
Mrs. Emmiett Clements of Sanford., Fla.
Additional Comments:
He was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, Americus, Sumter County., Georgia.
His grave is marked: Perry Coney Clegg -- and one date: January 3, 1946. I
have no idea where Collie came from in his obituary, unless it was inserted by
misstake. He was the son of the late Captain Perry Collier Clegg & Sallie
Elizabeth Coney.
