Whereas Edward Williams (Son of Edward Williams late of Blockley in the County 
of Philadelphia in the Province of Pensilvania Yeoman Deceased) and Hannah 
Garrett (the Daughter of William Garrett and Mary his wife Both deceas'd) of 
Darby in the County of Chester in the Province aforesaid having Declared their 
Intentions of Marriage [with?] Each Other before Several Monthly Meetings of 
the People Called Quakers at Darby According to the Good Order used Amongst 
them and having the Approbation of Relations and friends thereto their Said 
proposall of Marriage was Allowed of By the Said Meeting. Now these are to 
Certifie whom it may Concern that for the full Accomplishing their Said 
Intentions this Seventeenth Day of the Second month Called April in the Year 
of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and fifty one. They the Said Edward 
Williams and Hannah Garrett Appeared in a publick Meeting at Darby Aforesaid 
and the Said Edward Williams takeing the Said Hannah Garrett by the hand Did 
in a Solemn manner Openly Declare that he took her the Said Hannah Garrett to 
be his wife promising with the Lords Assistance to be Unto her a Loving and 
faithfull Husband Untill Death Should Seperate them and then and there in the 
Same Assembly the said Hannah Garrett Did in like manner Declare that She took 
the Said Edward Williams to be her Husband promising with the Lords Assistance 
to be Unto him a loving and faithfull wife Untill Death Should Seperate them 
And Moreover they the Said Edward Williams and Hannah Garrett (She According 
to the Custom of Marriage Assuming the Name of her Husband) as a farther 
Confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents Sett their hands.

And we whose names are here unto also Subscribed being present at the 
Solemnization of the Said Marriage and Subscription have as witnesses hereunto 
put our hands the Day and Year above written.
