To the Surrogate of the County of Allegany:

    The Petition of Olive Madison of the Town of Wellsville in the County
    of Allegany respectfully showeth:

    That Asa Hammond of the Town of Wellsville in the said County of
    Allegany deceased, died in the said Town of Wellsville on or about the
    4th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
    sixty-nine being at the time an inhabitant of the County of Allegany
    that he died, leaving a last Will and Testament which is now produced
    in the Surrogate's Court of the said County of Allegany before the said
    Surrogate, which bears the date of 18th of October in the year of our
    Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one and by which said last
    Will and Testament the said deceased nominated and appointed Smith
    Davis, Esq. of Angelica NY, executor thereof; that the said deceased
    died possessed of personal estate in the said County of Allegany and
    that the following named persons are all the heirs at law and next of
    kin of the said deceased, and their respective ages and places of
    residence are as follows, viz:

    Your Petitioner - residing at Wellsville - aged 38 years Nathaniel
    Hammond residing at Rochester Minnesota aged 36 years or thereabouts -
    Sarah Green wife of Geo. Green, - residing at Scio N.Y. - aged about 32
    years Elsie A. Limerson - wife of Ezra Limerson residing at Scio N.Y. -
    about 30 years old Marella Madison - wife of Wm. Madison residing in
    Caneadea, N.Y. - aged 25 years about

    All being of full age - That there are no other heirs or next of kin;
    than the above - That said deceased left surviving him his widow Mary
    Hammond now residing at Scio, N.Y.

    That your petitioner is a legatee under the will herewith sought to be
    proved
