Mrs. Annie Allen died at the home 
of her sister, Mrs. Calvin Williams
in East Thomaston, Saturday, June 28. 
She had been in declining health for a number 
of years, but her condition was not serious 
until a few weeks ago.
       Mrs. Allen was 45 years of age and is survived 
by her husband, Mr. Edd Allen, father, 
Mr. John Shumate, one son, Edward, 
one sister, Mrs. Calvin Williams, 
and five brothers. J. E., H. A., T. E. Shumate  of
 Thomaston, Walter Shumate, Atlanta, and Marvin Shumate
 of Butler, who have the sympathy of the people in 
the community in their loss.
       The funeral of Mrs. Allen was held Saturday
 afternoon from the residence of Mrs. Williams, 
interment in Glenwood Cemetery, Rev. Baker officiating
