Will of Adam Errett 3150

"In the name of God Amen I Adam Errett of Hempfield Township Westmoreland County 
Pennsylvania being sick and weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding 
(praised be God for it) considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the 
time thereof and to the end I may be the better prepared to leave this world whenever 
it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and declare this my last will and 
testament in manner following (that is to say) First and principally I commit my soul into 
the hands of Almighty God my creator and as to such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased 
God to intrust me I dispose of the same as followth I order that all my just debts funeral 
expenses and charges of proving this my will be in the first place fully paid and satisfied 
and after payment thereof and every part thereof. Item 1st I give and bequeath to my beloved 
wife Sarah the right and privilege of electing out of my personal property at the appraisment 
to the amount of three hundred dollars Item 2nd my will is that all the residue of my goods 
chattels merchandise and household furniture shall be indifferently appraised and sold at 
public sale and the proceeds thereof shall be equally divided among all my legal heirs share 
and share alike Item 3d I devise to my beloved wife the use of all my Real Estate situate 
in Hempfield Township Westmoreland County Pa bounded by lands of Henry Roose George Errett 
Michael Cooishore [? illegible] James Moor & others containing one hundred and twenty acres 
to have and to hold during her natural life and at her decease then said Real Estate to be 
indifferently appraised and sold at public sale to the highest and approved bidder & the 
proceeds thereof to be equally divided among any legal heirs share and share alike And I do 
hereby nominate constitute and appoint Leonard Beck of Hempfield Township executor of this 
my will and testament In witness whereof I the said testator Adam Errett have to this my 
last will and testament let my hand and seal this 16" day of May A D 1873"
