Mrs. Matilda JONES, wife of Norman JONES, one of the oldest and most
prominent citizens of Jackson, died at their home in that town last Tuesday
evening at 8 o'clock. She had been sick for a little more than a week, her
illness commencing with la grippe and terminating in neuralgia of the
stomach and heart failure.

Mrs. JONES had been a resident of the town of Jackson for more than forty
years, and her many gentle, womanly qualities had endeared her to a large
circle of friends extending far beyond the confines of her home town.

Mrs. JONES was the mother of five children--two daughters and three sons--
Ella, who died some years ago, Nellie, wife of Dr. EDWARDS of Reedsburg,
Wisc., Dr. Asa JONES of Hillsboro, Wisc., Dr. Frank JONES of Oxford, Wisc.,
and Will JONES residing on the old homestead in Jackson.

To these children and Mr. JONES, in the beautiful life gone out, comes a
loss that knows no compensation, but the memory of the life she lived, her
high ideals and noble purposes will remain with them on earth, guiding them
ever heavenward.

Funeral services will be held at the family home in Jackson at 10 o'clock
on Friday morning.
