Another Soldier At Rest

Clarkson JOHNSON, of Springville, in this county, died at his home in that
town on Monday of last week, Sept. 17, at the age of 67 years.

Mr. JOHNSON was a member of Company K of the 38th regiment of Wisconsin
Volunteers in the late War of the Rebellion. His constitution at that time
was hardly equal to the strain put upon it by the xposure incident to the
service in a climate to which he was wholly unused, and as a result he was
sick in hospital for a considerable time; but when able to do service, no
one responded to the call of duty more cheerfully and promptly. A good,
brave man has gone over to the other side, to join the ever increasing
ranks of the heroic dead.
