David HOLMES, who died at the home of his son, Dr. G. W. HOLMES, two and

New York, in the year 1811, and was 81 years old at the time of his death.

Deceased came to Wisconsin with his son in 1871, and settled at Marquette,
Green Lake county; where he resided until 1888 when he came to Adams county
and settled on their farm near this place, where he resided up to the time
of his death.

Mr. HOLMES was a kind old man, beloved by all who knew him, and his family
have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends in this their time of
affliction.

A brief funeral service was held at the house, after which the remains were
taken to his old home near Marquette for interment.
