Died, in Friendship, January 30, 1892, Mrs. Julia HILL, aged 72 years, 6
months and 4 days.

Mrs. HILL was born in Canada, July 26, 1819, and her maiden name was LEWIS.
About 1846, at Antrim Michigan, she was married to Mr. Henry HILL, father
of the late John HILL of this place, and grandfather of A.T. HILL and J.B.
HILL of Friendship, Mrs. Celia IRLE and Katie STRONG, of St. Paul
Minnesota, and Clara FOSTER of Des Moines Iowa.

The deceased was the second wife of Henry HILL, and had but one child,
Warren HILL of Detroit, Minnesota. She came to Wisconsin with her husband
in 1861, and ever since then her home has been near or with the family of
her husband's son, John HILL. He died in May 1872, leaving to his son
Albert the care of his aged father and his wife. A year later Henry HILL
the father of John HILL and the grandfather of Albert and John B., died,
and Mrs. Julia HILL, but for the affectionate regard of her step-son's
children would have been left practically alone in the world. Albert HILL
fitted up a pleasant home, and installed the old grandmother as its
mistress, and there her declining years were made brighter and happier than
fall to the lot of most women by one who, though not of kinship, has
watched over her during her declining days, and has made the way smooth and
pleasant to her feet, with all the tender solicitude and care of an
affectionate son.
Mrs. HILL died of the grippe.
