DIED--Mrs. Catherine HIGBEE

Mrs. Catherine HIGBEE died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. August
FISCHER, at Nekoosa, Wis., July 8th, 1903, after a long illness. Mrs.
Catherine HIGBEE was born at Ransville, Auburn Co., New York November 26,
1824. She was married in 1853 to Wm. HIGBEE; came to Necedah, Wisconsin, in
1861. In the year 1866, they came to Barnum, Wisconsin, where she had since
resided except the last year of her life which was spent in Nekoosa.

She had been a great sufferer from rheumatism for the past 12 years, the
last six years of her life having been a helpless invalid.

At an early age she became a follower of Christ and united with the M. E.
church.

The funeral was held at the Horton schoolhouse, services conducted by Rev.
Smith, and her remains were laid to rest in the New Rome cemetery. She
leaves one son and a granddaughter to mourn her loss.
