Mrs. Phoebe HARRIS died at her home in Twin Valley, Adams county, Monday.
She had attained the age of 85 years, 40 years of which had been spent on
the farm where she died. She came with her husband and family from
Pennsylvania in 1863, settling on the farm in Twin Valley where they lived
prominently and successfully. She retained a vigorous use of her mental and
physical faculties to the last, walking all around the neighborhood but a
few weeks ago. Her husband survives her and his age is nearly 91 years. One
daughter is married to H. S. WILLARD, a prominent citizen of the county,
another is Mrs. George AGER of Briggsville, and one son and one daughter,
unmarried, are living at home.
