Mrs. Eliza DARROW of Point Bluff, Wisconsin, died at her home in that place
on Saturday May 5, 1888.

Since last November she had been a sufferer of cancer of the breast. The
pained look that had rested upon her face during the last weeks of
suffering, passed away and was replaced by a look of surprised rapture and
such radiance that the whole room seemed to be lighted by it; and the voice
which before could scarcely utter a sound now broke forth in clear, ringing
tones, saying, "Oh, how beautful! How glorious!" If, in the heart of any
who saw her spirit leave its earthly temple there had been any doubts or
fears as to the certainty of a life beyond, they were all swept away and
heaven was revealed to them in beauty and glory.

Mrs. DARROW was a calm, quiet woman, patient and kind but firm. Faults
perhaps she had (who has not?) but her example of patient endurance and
cheerful submission was in itself a daily sermon. Her death was a grand
confirmation of the blessed truths and promises of the Bible.
