April 9 1898 P5C3: John CAMPBELL, a well-known citizen of Easton, died at
his home in that town last Sunday April 3rd, of catarhh of the stomach. Mr.
CAMPBELL had been sick all winter. The funeral, held on Wednesday at
Easton, was largely attended and conducted by Rev. J. A. Thomas of
Friendship.

Additional information from April 16, 1898 Page 4 Column 2: John CAMPBELL
was born on the Cairnlea farm, Sterlingshire, Scotland in 1841. His
parents, John and Elizabeth CAMPBELL, came to America in 1850 and resided
one winter in Milwaukeee where their son Robert died. They came to Easton
in 1853. John CAMPBELL Sr. died 14 years ago and his wife 7 years ago. Mrs.
H. P. Reid, his sister, attended to his needs before his death.
