"Obituary George S. Burns"

George Samuel BURNES was born in New Brunswick, Canada, July 5th, 1855, and
died at his home in the town of Monroe, September 10th, 1925, aged 70
years, 2 months and 5 days.

Deceased was united in marriage August 15th, 1879 with Miss Saphire JORDAN,
and for some time they resided in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1890, they
moved to the town of Monroe, where they have since resided. To them were
born five daughters, two of whom, Mrs. Martha BLOOD and Carrie Eva, are
deceased. Those surviving are Mrs. Anna HOWARD, Mrs. Maggie HAYES and Mrs.
Nettie RUSSELL, who with the widow are left to mourn a kind and
affectionate husband and father. He is also survived by sixteen
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on September 13th, at the Monroe Center church,
Rev. O'Neil of Nekoosa officiating, and interment was in the Monroe Center
cemetery.
