Wilhelmina Burrkhart was born in Gross Lafferde, Germany, Nov. 17th, 1825,
and died at the home of her son Henry, Oct. 28th, aged 88 years, 11 mo. and
13 days.

In August 1848 she was united in marriage to Daniel Burgdorff. To this
union four sons were born, Theodore, Werner, Henry and Fred, all of whom
are living. After living in Germany for a number of years, the family
decided to come to America, arriving here in 1865 just as the soldiers were
leaving the war for their homes. After a short stay in New York they came
to Wisconsin making their home in Adams county.

At an early age she joined the German Lutheran church and was a faithful
member. Last february she fell and received an injury from which she never
recovered. Blood poison finally set in and caused her death. She suffered
greatly but was very patient and uncomplaining awaited her reward.

She leaves to mourn their loss four sons, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-
four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the New Chester church on Friday October
30th, conducted by Rev. Krebs of Oxford. The remains were laid to rest
beside those of her husband in the New Chester cemetery.
