Mrs. Eli Beals

FRIENDSHIP--Mrs. Eli Beals, 73, Brooks, Wis., died at 8 a.m. Monday 
at the Adams County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient 
for three months. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the New Chester 
Congregational Church with the Rev. William King officiating. Burial 
will be in New Chester Cemetery.

Mrs. Beals, the former Libbie McCllyman, was born in the town of 
Newchester, Adams County, May 13, 1890, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
Andrew McCllyman, and was married to Mr. Beals in 1908. She served 
as postmistress at Brooks for 16 years, and operated the telephone 
exchange there for 34 years. 

Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Cecil Elliott and 
Mrs. Lucy Hamilton, Oxford; Mrs. Ollie Nelson, Arena, and Mrs. Irna 
Luebka, Dellwood; two sons, Clinton (Jim) Janesville, and Eli, 
Oregon; two brothers, Andrew and Wallace , Brooks; one sister, Mrs. 
Vera Fenner, Friendship; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren 
and one great-great grandchild.
