April 23, 1898, P1 Supplement Section "White Creek" News: D. N. BACON, one
of the pioneers of this county, and for many years a resident of this
village, died at his home on his farm near Point Bluff last Saturday
morning, and was buried beside many of his relatives in our village
cemetery Monday. Among the friends from abroad were his brothers, E. F.
BACON of Des Moines, Iowa, G. B. BACON of Cumberland, Wisconsin, and J. F.
BACON of Kilbourn. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Alfred Verran.

April 30, 1898 Page 4 Column 2: David N. BACON was born March 26, 1834 at
Bath, Steuben county, New York, and died April 16, 1898 at Point Bluff,
Wisconsin.

Deceased was the youngest son of N. B. BACON, who is living at Des Moines,
Iowa, at the advanced age of 98 years. Deceased also has four brothers who
survive him: J. F. BACON, of Kilbourn, Wis.; Geo. B. BACON of Cumberland,
Wis.; J. D. BACON of Sparr, Florida; E. F. BACON of Des Moines, Iowa. His
brothers, J. F. and E. F., were with him at the time of his demise. His
brother G. B. BACON was at the funeral.

Deceased also leaves one son and one daughter by his first wife--Addison A.
BACON and Mrs. May REYNOLDS; also a loving and affectionate wife and two
stepdaughters, Mrs. Alice JEFFREY of Royalton, Minnesota, and Estella A.
COLSON of Point Bluff, Wisconsin, all of whom are left to mourn the loss of
a kind and beloved husband, father, son and brother, whose faults were few
and forgotten: and whose virtues were many and will ever be cherished by
those who knew and loved him best.

Deceased has a mother, four sisters and his first wife who are waiting to
meet him on the other shore, where pain and death are felt and feared no
more.

Deceased came to Wisconsin with his parents in December 1843, and has been
a resident of the state ever since, having resided for over 18 years on the
farm where he died.

Deceased has filled many offices of profit and trust in Adams county, with
honor to himself and his constituency who elected him.

In the death of D. N. BACON, Adams county loses one of her most
enterprising, honest, industrious and thrifty citizens, whose loss will be
deeply felt and sadly mourned by his many friends and acquaintances in
Central Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held at his residence on April 18, Rev. A. Verran of
Kilbourn, officiating.
