James Attleson was born in Norway on the 12th of July, 1851 and came to
this country with his parents when he was one year old. His parents came to
Adams County, and here Mr. Attleson lived until his death which occurred at
his home in the town of Strong's Prairie, Sunday September 16th, at the age
of 72 years, 2 months and 4 days.

Mr. Attleson for years was prominent in town affairs and held many local
township offices. He was also a devoted member of the Trinity Lutheran
Church of Arkdale and took an active interest in church work.

He is survived by his wife and the following children: Charley, Tena,
William, Dora, Sarah, Josie, Gertie and George; also by two brothers and
one sister, Atley and Andrew Attleson and Dina Monson of Madison.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon Sept. 19th, at the house and
at the Central Lutheran Church. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the
bereaved family.
