New Castle News, October 22, 1931
Mrs. Christena Steffler, aged 86, of Wurtemburg, died
this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. F.
JACKSON, Big Beaver township, after an illness of one week.
She was the widow of George H. Steffler and had lived the
greater part of her life in Wayne township.
Mrs. Steffler was a lifelong member of the Slippery
Rock Presbyterian church and was most highly respected and
loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by one daughter, at whose home she
died; two sons, William H. Steffler of Wurtemburg and
Charles A. Steffler of Vanport; eleven granchildren,
nineteen great granchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Mary
Cunningham, Wilmington township; Mrs. Elizabeth Stoner of
Wurtemburg, and Mrs. Tirish [?] Johnson of Ellwood City.
Funeral services will be held in the Slippery Rock
Presbyterian church Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Elliott
officiating, and interment will be made in the church
cemetery.
