John Thomas Rinehart - Will dated Dec. 11, 1864
Greene Co., Pennsylvania Will No 2172
I, John Thomas Rinehart, Esq., being of sound mind and disposing memory do
make this my last will and testament. 1st, I will and bequeath to my daughter,
Susanna Rinehart, one eleventh of my whole estate besides the
house where I now reside, door yard, barn and barn yard, garden, orchard, and
the lots with the two orchards as they are now fenced, also the field
adjoining Girdon (sic) on the right hand side of the road going up the run as
it is now fenced, and the lot on the same side of the road between said
field, and the door and barn yard for her during her natural life for extra
attention to me during my infirmities, also with the privilege of timber off
my farm to keep up the ffence around said boundaries as before described and
for fuel for the house, also two beds and bedding to be selected by her also
two cows to be selected by her and six head of sheep selected by her, and two
stock hogs selected by her, also my share of the grain that is now seeded on
the farm; also feed on the farm to winter said stock as before described for
this winter; also one red steer that we are now feeding for beef to be
equally divided between my two daughters Susanna and Dorcas; also one black
steer that I had heretofore given to my daughter Susan to her alone.
2nd, also to my son Morgan Rinehart one eleventh part of my whole estate
after deducting reservations made to my daugher Susan less one hundred
dollars of said eleventh to be paid to Morgan's daughter Martha Rinehart.
3rd, also one eleventh part of my estate after deducting reservations made
to Susan to my daughter Settice Gwynn, less one half of said eleventh part to
be paid to her son, George R. Wisecarver.
Also to my son Peter Rinehart, one eleventh part of my estate and all the
farming utensils including wagons 7cl, less the reservations made to Susan.
Also to my daughter Hannah Adams one eleventh part of my estate less one bay
mare valued at fifty dollars given her.
Also to my daughter Elmira Harvey one eleventh part of my estate after
deducting reservations made to Susan less fifty dollars heretofore paid to
her.
Also to my grandson, John T. Rinehart, one eleventh part of my estate, less
the reservations made to my daughter Susan, and should he not return from the
army then his share to be divided equally among my several daughters, share
and share alike.
Also to my daughter Rhoda Ann Russell one eleventh part of my estate less
reservations made to my daughter Susan, and one hundred dollars that I hold
his note for.
Also to my son Uriah Rinehart, one eleventh part of my estate less
reservations heretofore made.
Also to my daughters Ruth Turner and Dorcas Zimmerman, each one eleventh part
of my estate less reservations heretofore made to Susan.
I also appoint my son Uriah Rinehart and Jacob S. Rush, my executors.
I also want the farm and personal property less the reservations heretofore
made to be sold by my executors. Given under my hand and seal this 11 day of
December, A.D. 1864
