NICKESON, Solomon 1880: Rich Hill Township
I, Solomon Nickeson, a farmer by occupation of Rich Hill
Township the county of Greene, State of Pennsylvania, make
this my last will. I give, devise and bequeath my estate
and property as follows; that is to say: My sons Francis M.
Nickeson and Alexander M. Nickeson are to take my farm and
all my personal property on the following conditions. They
are to pay all my just debts, and they are to keep me and my
wife during our physical lifetime. (This livelihood to be
given my wife by our sons, is to be in the place of the
usual dowry due the widow, in case my wife should survive
me.) Also they are to give me and my wife a decent burial.
They are to pay, at the death of Mrs. Eveline Supler, widow
of John Supler, two hundred and ninety six 25/100 dollars,
known as the widow's dower; said amount to be paid to those
legally authorized to receive what is due said Mrs. Supler.
At the death of myself and my wife, they (my son Francis and
Alexander) are to have the deed which I hold for my real
estate, to be held and used as their own on the condition
that they pay the other heirs hereinafter named as follows:
The first year after our death, they are to pay our son
William one-hundred dollars. The second year after our
death, they are to pay our daughter Ann one-hundred dollars.
The third year after our death, they are to pay our
daughter Margaret One-hundred dollars. The fourth year
after our death, (or sooner if they so choose) they are to
pay our son Ira L. one hundred dollars. The fifth year after
our death, (or sooner if they so choose) they are to pay our
daughter Melvina One-hundred dollars. The sixth year after
our death (or sooner if they so choose) they are to pay our
daughter Caroline S. one-hundred dollars. I have already
paid my son John W. One-hundred dollars thus making him an
equal sharer with the other heirs. I have already paid my
son Henry W. two-hundred dollars, one hundred dollars of
which he shall retain as his share in my estate: the other
one hundred dollars shall be equally divided among my
several heirs. I appoint Rev. J.R. Morris, West Finley,
County of Wash., State of Pa. executor of this my will. In
witness whereof I have signed and sealed and published and
declared this instrument as my will, at my home in Rich Hill
Township, Greene Co. Pa. on the 21st day of Oct. 1880.
