DOROTHY C. EVANS-SNYDER 

  Dorothy C. Evans-Snyder, 83, of State College, formerly of 
Williamsburg, passed away early Friday, June 8, 2007, at Mt. Nittany 
Medical Center, State College, after a brief illness.
  She was born April 4, 1924, in Spruce Creek, Huntingdon County, a 
daughter of the late M. M. and Ella (Carper) Fisher. She was twice 
married, first to Walter Evans in 1941. He died in 1950. She then 
married W. Richard Snyder, formerly of Tyrone, on January 1, 1961.
  Surviving are her husband; five grandchildren; three great-
grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Bigelow of Warrenton, Virginia; and 
numerous nieces and nephews.
  She was preceded in death by two sons: Ronald L. Evans Sr. in 1993, 
and Donald E. Evans in 2001; and three brothers.
  Mrs. Evans-Snyder was a former member of Williamsburg Christian and 
Missionary Alliance Church.
  She retired as a filing clerk from the Shields Building of the 
Pennsylvania State University, State College in 1987, after 10 years 
service. Previously, she was employed as a cashier at the Acme Market, 
State College, and the Hollidaysburg A & P store.
  Mrs. Evans-Snyder enjoyed handing out Penn State football buttons 
during the PSU football season.
  She was a former member of the Centre Squares, State College.
  Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 until the 3 
p.m. funeral service Monday at Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg 
with Pastor Duane A. White officiating. Interment will be made at Royer 
Cemetery, Williamsburg RR 2.
