M'CONNELL

  P. J. McConnell, a former well known Altoona resident, but for many 
years a resident of Unionville, Center county, died at his home on last 
Thursday from a complication of diseases after an illness of two weeks.  
He was aged 61 years.  He was employed for forty years by the 
Pennsylvania Railroad company and was a yard and track foreman at 
Unionville and Bellefonte.  He was a member of the Middle Division 
Veterans' association and invariably attended the annual reunion when 
held in Altoona.  He was also a member of St. John's Catholic church at 
Bellefonte, the Elks and Knights of Columbus.  He is survived by his 
wife and three children, John, Margaret and James, at home, and three 
sisters, Mrs. W. C. Berry of Pittsburgh and Mrs. W. J. McLaughlin and 
Miss Annie McConnell of Altoona.  The funeral will take place this 
morning at Bellefonte.
