RICHARD JAY GENSAMER 

  Mr. Richard Jay Gensamer, age 80, of 816 E. Plank Road, Port Matilda 
died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the Atrium at The Village at Penn 
State, State College. He was born July 18, 1924 in Bellwood, the son of 
Jerry E. and Cora Mae Hostler Gensamer. On June 15, 1947 he was married 
to Olga Lucille Colt. He is survived by his wife of 57-and-a-half years 
and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mr. Gensamer was 
the last of his immediate family having been preceded in death by four 
brothers and five sisters, Frank, Charles, Jerry, Paul, Mary, Lutetia, 
Pearl, Emma and Eva.
  He was a 50 year member of the Port Matilda United Methodist Church. 
He was a member of the Port Matilda IOOF, Port Matilda Lions Club, the 
Tyrone Masonic Lodge #494, the Jaffa Shrine and Centre County Shrine 
Club.
  Mr. Gensamer was a graduate of Bellwood High School and had been 
employed for 22 years by the Chicago Rivet and Machine Company of 
Tyrone. Following this he owned and operated the Gensamer Insurance 
Agency in Port Matilda for 22 years. He was a veteran of World War II 
with service in the Marine Corp in China.
  Funeral service for Richard Jay Gensamer will be Saturday, January 
29, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Port Matilda United Methodist Church with 
Pastor Patricia Gable officiating. Friends will be received at the 
Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 
p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the 
service. Private interment will be made in Logan Valley Cemetery at the 
convenience of the family. Contributions in his memory may be made to 
the charity of the donor's choice.
