EDITH P. FRYE 

  Edith P. Frye, 83, formerly of Port Matilda, died Thursday, May 18, 
2006 at the home of her daughter Gloria in State College.
  She was born September 3, 1922 in Womelsdorf, a daughter of Walter C. 
and Clara Belle (Ammerman) Crownover. On August 29, 1938 in Maryland 
she married George E. Frye. He died February 1, 1994.
  Surviving are two daughters, Gloria J. Pighetti of State College and 
Beverly A. Meek of Port Matilda; two sons, Edward G. and wife Patty of 
Huntingdon and Leroy W. and wife Jane of Port Matilda; 14 
grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; 
two sisters, Katherine Harpster, a resident of Tyrone Colonial 
Courtyard and Alice Rodgers of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by a 
sister Margaret Kyper Williams and two brothers James and William 
Crownover and step-father George Sunday.
  Mrs. Frye retired in 2000 from Walmart, State College as a cashier 
following 10 years service. She was previously employed at Renaissance 
Assisted Living, State College, Eaken Rest Home, Bald Eagle and was a 
waitress at Holiday Inn and Sheraton, both of State College.
  She was a member of the Port Matilda American Legion Auxiliary and 
the Bellefonte VFW Auxiliary. She was of the Methodist faith.
  Edith enjoyed bowling, camping and animals.
  Funeral services will be held Monday, May 22, 2006 at 2 p.m. at 
Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Patricia Gable officiating. Interment 
will follow at Port Matilda Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends will be 
received at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

College Ave., State College, Pa. 16801.
