Death of David Crotty.

David Crotty, of Bellefonte, was admitted to the hospital on the 2d
of September last to receive treatment for stomach troubles. He had
been in failing health for some time previous to his admission, having
been a patient at one of the Philadelphia hospitals. His case baffled
the skill of the best physicians of that city. His condition was very
serious when he was admitted here, and the attending physicians had
very little hope of restoring him to health. His health remained
unchanged until about three weeks ago when he commenced to sink, and
despite the constant attendance of medical skill and attentive nursing
he became rapidly worse and at 11 o'clock Saturday night died in great
agony. Throughout his long illness he bore his sufferings in patience
and always was hopeful of recovering. Just previous to his death
Father McKenna, of St. John's, administered the last rites of the
church.
Deceased was born at Boiling Spring, near Bellefonte, twenty-eight
years ago, and was single. He is survived by four sisters - Mrs.
Joseph Cedar, Mrs. Robert Gilmore, Mrs. Martin Cooney and Mrs. Corn
Garman, all of Bellefonte, and two brothers - James and Michael Crotty,
of Boiling Spring, Centre county. The remains were given in charge of
Undertaker B. J. Lynch and prepared for burial. The funeral will take
place at Bellefonte.
